7TH SCIENCE

Review: 7th Science – MOY Exam Review – September to January
Review: You MUST read the chapters that were covered in from September to January 4th.

MUST STUDY - Weekly Vocabulary words for Unit 1, Unit II, and Unit III.

Vocabulary:  
cartilage; joint; dermis; epidermis; muscle; ligament; cardiac muscle; skeletal system; Periosteum;tendons; Smooth muscles;         voluntary muscles; melanin, vertebrae,

Identify the dietary needs for maintaining healthy bones.  

Name the six types of nutrients and their importance.

Be able to distinguish between mechanical and chemical digestion.  

Know the parts of the skeletal system - Joints, muscles, and bones

Compare arteries, veins, and capillaries. Know parts of the heart.

How is the CNS and PNS different? 

Name the three parts of the brain and the function of each part.
What is the immune system?

READ CHAPTER 24 ON IMMUNITY, DISEASES, STDs; and What are communicable and non-communicable diseases?

Parts of an animal cell.

Weekly Reminders - 1/4/16

WELCOME TO 2016 -  HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my students, parents, and their families for the wonderful and thoughtful gifts I received for Christmas.  It is very much appreciated.  Again, Thank you all!


This quarter, students will be getting ready for mid-term exams.  Please make sure your child/ren are doing their homework, studying, going over daily classwork, and coming to class prepared.

The material on the mid-terms will cover the important terminology and concepts your child have learned since September, 2015. An outline of the important terms, concepts, and facts that may be covered on the exams will be posted on the school blog by Monday, January 11th.

January Calendars will be sent home on Monday.  Please read the calendar carefully.
