AIM: p. 100 - How do solids form and the geometric pattern of some solids?
PROCEDURE: Students will observe different types of solid rocks.
List the size, shape, texture, and color for the rocks.
Explain why some solids are crystalline and noncrystalline.
HOMEWORK: On LL, p. 103 – Using Math – must show work.

AIM/PURPOSE: LAB: Does particles have more kinetic energy in hot or cold temperature?
PROCEDURE: Students will observe the effects of temperature and heat on particles.
Students will show how heat of fusion affects molecules.
Students will demonstrate how a solid becomes a liquid.
HOMEWORK: Complete LAB SHEET.

How do liquids and gasses form?
PROCEDURE: Oral reading and discussion on matter in the liquid states.
Students will learn how the heat of vaporation changes a liquid into a gas.
Students will understand why the heat of vaporation is greater than the heat
of fusion.
HOMEWORK: BRING IN PURPLE FRUITS OR VEGETABLES ON 9/22/08 – Be prepared to
explain the nutrition value of your purple fruit or vegetable.
