1.  Insolation - The angle at which sunlight strikes Earth's surface.  It's the amount of the Sun's energy that reaches Earth at a given place and time.  It is short for incoming solar radiation.

2.  atmosphere - The air that surrounds Earth.  The atmosphere reaches from Earth's surface to the edge of space.

3.  troposphere - The layer closest to Earth's surface.  All life on Earth exists here. In this layer all moisture is found and all clouds, rain, snow, and thunderstorms form.

5. weather - what the lower atmosphere or troposphere is like at any given place or time.  The conditions that make up weather are air temperature, air pressure, wind, amount of moisture in the air, clouds, and rain or snow.

6.  barometer - the instrument that measures air pressure.  Two common types of barometers are the mercury barometer or the aneroid barometer.
