PROCEDURE: Oral reading of chapter 2 – lesson 1 – A Look into the Past.

AIM: p. 24 – What is history and how does it help historians look into the past.

PROCEDURE: Oral reading, notes and discussion on the role oral tradition, artifacts and
primary sources play in forming history.

Thursday 25th, 2008

AIM: How does oral tradition differ from a written source?

PROCEDURE: To explain how oral tradition and written sources preserve history.
Students will be able to brainstorm some examples.

HOMEWORK: Use your imagination to write about how the artifacts in your home might be
viewed by an historian 100 years from now. LL

Friday 26th, 2008

AIM: DBQ using the 11/14/08 state exam.

PROCEDURE: Students will answer DBQ questions based on the state exam online.

HOMEWORK: Complete DBQ essay.
